Monthly rentals in Canggu: how to stay a month or longer in Bali
A month in Bali changes how you travel. What to look for in a monthly rental around Canggu, and the questions to ask before you sign.

Why stay a month
A week in Bali is a holiday; a month is a life. You learn the roads, find your café and settle into a rhythm of work, surf and sunsets, and monthly rates usually come in well below nightly ones.
Canggu and its quieter neighbour Umalas are among the most popular places on the island for long stays, thanks to the cafés, the co-working spaces and an ocean five minutes away.
- Weekly housekeeping and linen change
- 300 Mbps fibre and water
- Co-working and meeting rooms
- Rooftop pool, gym and SPA
- 24/7 security
- One invoice, refundable one-month deposit
Villa or apartment?
A private villa gives you space and privacy, but on a typical lease the internet, utilities, cleaning and pool care are often yours to arrange. A serviced apartment trades the private garden for simplicity: one invoice, a team on site and shared facilities you would never have at home.
For remote workers, couples and small families, the serviced route usually means less admin and more time actually living in Bali.
Questions to ask before you sign
What does the monthly price include: internet speed, water, electricity, housekeeping, linen? How big is the deposit, and when is it returned? What is the minimum term, and how much notice do you need to give to extend?
Get the answers in writing. A good host will answer all of them in a single message.
Check your visa first
Before committing to a long stay, check which visa fits your plans and how long it lets you stay. The rules change, so rely on the official Indonesian immigration website or a licensed agent rather than forum posts.
